What do you mean by the word distance learning? It's a revolution in education, as some claim, or is exaggerated hype another learning method? The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language defines distance education as "education where students take academics to access information and communicate with the instructor asynchronously over a computer network. Was also known as distance learning? "

Asynchronous is a word that means "out of sync" or "is not something that happens to you on a regular basis or by default. Applied to education, it simply means that teaching and learning are not happen at once. So that asynchronous communication computer requires the simultaneous participation of teachers and students. With distance learning, the teacher and students are separated by time and space - literally "remote.

This is definitely a revolutionary departure from traditional teaching. Because students do not need to meet with the instructor in the same place at the same time, they are not limited by the constraints of rigid schedules and locations. Asynchronous communication e -learning gives students the opportunity to study at the place and time that suits you best.

Although the term distance is often used synonymously with distance learning system, there is a subtle but separate between the two. You could say they are actually the opposite of the same coin. The difference between the two is the focus. Distance learning is student-centered, focusing on learning and the learning process. Distance education is education teacher-centered, focusing on teachers and teaching process.

The huge increase in the popularity of distance e - learning is at least partly due to the flexibility and convenience that it offers students unprecedented. With this learning platform, students can no longer be left to the educational objectives of the work, family responsibilities, or any number of other obstacles that have prevented further in the past.

Distance learning can supplement or replace traditional education. For example, if a required course is not offered at the local level, it is likely that the student can enroll in online courses, even if the course is offered in a school far from where the student lives. For people living in remote areas, is incarcerated or who have disabilities or other limitations that prevent participation in a traditional school, distance learning may be the only option for continuing education.

Although differences in the methods of study, time and place of the hearing can be radical, there is little or no distinction between the program of distance education and traditional education. Even if the instruction is asynchronous, the general term for education reflects the traditional classroom closely. E - Learning students often use the same books and other materials traditionally classrooms . After graduation, there is no difference in the transcription of the University Of Whether The Course Is traditional or online. With just a computer and Internet access, millions of students worldwide who otherwise would not be able to continue their education do with distance education
